January recap

Well... a happy 2014 to everyone! This month has flown by and since I haven't really done much posting here, I thought a recap in photos would be fun.

This hooded scarf was a quick and fun project to crochet and perfect for an exceptionally chilly Winter day. Made out of Crystal Palace Yarns Mini Mochi, it's very snuggly and warm. To learn more about the pattern, see my Ravelry page here.

Hubby and I discovered an amazing new place for brunch called Sputnik. $6 for a carafe of Mimosas! We opted for grapefruit juice instead of OJ and the generous carafe provided 5-6 glasses :)

My brunch selection from Sputnik. It was some sort of tofu/kale/mushroom/egg/veggie scramble and boy was is scrumptious. The restaurant is located on S. Broadway which is quickly becoming my favorite area of Denver.

I found a Coconut Porter from Maui Brewing Co. at our local grocery. I have wonderful memories of drinking these in Hawaii at a local bar.

Another beer-y surprise this month came all the way from Cleveland :) The Great Lakes Christmas Ale is one of our absolute favorites and Winter just wouldn't be the same without it.

Check out these fabulous Aris Allen wedges that I snagged from a thrift store on S. Broadway! I've been eyeing these beauties for months and what luck to find them in my size, in great condition, and at 1/4 the price! Also in the pic, I've been knitting up socks like a madwoman and these are my latest, done in Knitpicks Stroll Tweed. Something about hand made socks just feels so cozy and warm.

Another find from S. Broadway St is this amazing raspberry chiffon scarf. It's so big and lovely! I have many scarves but had been searching for one in a solid color that was big enough to wear in the style I am showing above and...

... to wear like this (I'm pointing to the bow on top for you)

Hehe... thought I'd end off the post with a bath time photo of the pups :)
