A Bit of Hidden Beauty

Alright, I admit that I still have 2 more days from my January Disney trip that yet to be posted.  I'm just savoring the memories :)  After looking through my (many) photos from our absolutely wonderful day at Animal Kingdom, I was reminded of these gorgeous birdhouses scattered throughout the Maharajah Jungle Trek.
If you haven't been to Animal Kingdom, the Maharajah Jungle Trek isn't exactly what the crowds rush toward upon entrance.  No, it's not a thrilling roller coaster or even an air conditioned break from the heat... it's a walk.  However... it's one of my favorite parts of the park!  The incredible details are abundant all throughout the Animal Kingdom and the theming on the Trek is no exception.

Featured here are some of the many different decorative bird houses but there are also incredible paintings, sculptures, and little extras that really make the experience.

Oh, did I mention there are lots of animals and foliage everywhere also? Here, we got a close up look at this stunning tiger. The animals are all so well taken care of here, they are treated kindly and kept in gigantic enclosure habitats. Despite the fact that all of Disney's other parks have late closing hours and fireworks at night, AK has always closed early with no loud shows in the evenings as to not disturb the animals.
The tiger's likeness in a painting on the rocks, these beauties are found everywhere along the path!  Next time you're in Animal Kingdom, don't just rush to Expedition Everest.... well, ok you still can... but right after, take the time to explore the Maharajah Jungle Trek and all of AK's details.  I promise you won't be disappointed.
