Looking for something fun to watch on this Sunday afternoon? Take a few minutes to enjoy this video featuring two "future" kitchens from the 1950s. The first clip is a commercial for a Frigidaire kitchen (I love how the cake comes out with lighted candles in it, haha!). The second clip features the Monsanto House of the Future from Disneyland. Interesting fact about the Monsanto House... since it was built entirely of plastics, when it was to be torn down the wrecking ball bounced right off! The workers had to take it apart piece by piece.

  1. Enjoyed the video!

Wow...the cake is made by just putting the pan in the "oven" & comes out as an iced cake with candles!

The Disney film was fun & the kitchen is big and open like today, but I am glad we don't now have shelves that open and close with a button.
