Beat the Heat with a Cool Cocktail

It has been terribly hot this week in Cincinnati so during my wonderful day off on the 4th of July, my husband decided to mix up some sangria to cool us down!
I think he thoroughly enjoyed dumping an entire bottle of wine in the sangria.



For a tropical taste, we picked up an entire fresh pineapple.

Along with the pineapple, the sangria contained pinot noir, large orange slices, small lemon and lime slices, clud soda, a splah of orange juice and just a bit of sugar.  Neither of us prefer sweet drinks so this batch of Sangria is only barely sweetened.  I added a splash of coconut rum to mine as well.  These were sooo refreshing on a hot July day and we have A LOT left to get us through the rest of this awful heat wave.
